Hello Parents, I believe that parent involvement is very important in the success of your child’s education now and for the future. Parent involvement is a combination of commitment and active participation. It is very beneficial to the student as well as the teacher when parents are involved. There are many ways a parent can become involved and I have taken the time to list 10 Ways Parents can be involved to give you some helpful hints. Also I included a Parent Involvement Questionnaire to give me an idea on what I can do to better your child’s educational experience. Please remember the best way to become involved is Communication!!!

10 Ways Parents can be Involved
1. Establish regular communication with your child’s teacher through email, phone calls, notes or visits. Don’t wait till there is a problem. Communication is the key!
2. Read to your child3. Offer to do a presentation about your culture to your child’s class.
4. Join the PTA
5. Make sure to tell the teacher how your child learns best, what they do in their free time and what is going on at home.
6. Work with the teacher to understand academic goals7. Help organize, cater, or work fundraising activities such as bake sales or car washes.
8. Make sure you know your rights under NCLB and other state and federal policies.
